The second episode starts with a woman visiting an old lady in a nursing home. The woman visiting the nursing home is now in a car. He is asking her is she ready. She says yes. He is a vampire. They drive off.

The scene then cuts to Michael talking to Vaughan and asking him why no one has tried taking a vampire alive. Vaughan tells him its because they are faster and stronger. He also tells Michael the only thing they have is surprise. Vaughan warns Michael to stay away from Kirsty as they will use her to get at him and the organisation.

We are back with the vampire in the car, who has come across some trouble with a man and his passenger on a motor bike. The man attacks the car. He damages the darkened window, which lets sunlight into the car. The vampire is burnt. The woman in the car tries to get out, but the vampire stops her. He drives off, hitting the biker's girlfriend.

We are back with Michael. Vaughan tells him he has had to kill friends too and advises him to let Kirsty go.

Kirsty shows up at Michael's place wandering why Michael has resigned. She says, 'didn't they have more in common than just Jack'. Then Vaughan shows up saying they have a job. Pearse and Angie are at the scene of the abandoned car of the vampire. Angie examines some ashes. Pearse asks 'is that our man'. Angie says 'some of him - whatever's left can't be pretty'. Pearse asks 'are we sure it survived'. Angie says it's a partial elimination; if it had been total there would be no car left.

Pearse says, driving around in broad daylight you have got to admire their nerve. Angie tells Pearse the car belongs to Lester Hammond, who is rich and has kept a very low profile and no pictures.

Pearse holds a meeting. He tells the team their investigation is about money, where it comes from and where it goes. Angie tells Michael that the vampire use children to manipulate the parents. She tells the team, Hammond is under surveillance. Michael makes a snide comment, about the fact it's not all seek and destroy. Pearse tells Michael we want information just as much as you do. Pearse tells the team to follow the money.

Angie interviews Hammond's father who tells her his son will get no sanctuary here.

Michael and Vaughan go to visit Hammond's financial advisor who happens to be the woman who was in the car. Her name is Danny Ashford. She tells them Lester Hammond is an ex client. Vaughan asks can he get to his father's money; she says no.

Vaughan calls Angie, who tells him someone else was in the car, because there was a car phone. Michael asks why wasn't it the vampires. Vaughan tells him electrical items cannot pick them up even audio, which makes surveillance a bitch.

Danny contacts the vampire Hammond, who tells her to stay calm.

Vaughan and Michael tell Pearse that Hammond, the vampire's father, is selling everything and putting it into cash certificates, which Hammond want's delivered to his place.

Pearse goes to the lab. He finds Angie. He says, "I thought I might find you here". Angie says looking down a microscope, 'maybe blood is not the key'. Pearse smiles, 'well the boys have made progress in the out side world'. Angie becomes defensive and tells Pearse she has just arrived and that she has not been neglecting the day job. She had been investigating Lester's interest in buying real estate. Pearse says, 'he's building safe houses'.

Pearse looks at Angie who is still busy working. "You want me out of here." She tells him it's here (the lab) is where you will beat then in the end. Pearse tells her as long as she does not get tunnel vision. He also says, I know as far as research goes you work in a time of years, but we may not have that long.

Michael goes to see an old friend and asks her how not to let your work interfere with your private life. She tells him if he has any doubts about his new job he should get out.

Danny goes to meet Hammond. She tells him that the investigators know about him. He tells her to get off the fence and bring the money.

Michael goes to see Kirsty. She tells him she is sick of lies. She wants to know what he is not telling her. Michael asks her to ring him the next day. She said she would only if he had something to tell her.

Vaughan and Michael are watching Danny when Michael spots her burnt arm. They investigate Danny. Vaughan stakes out Hammond's place and arrests Danny. He asks her were the vampire is.

Angie and Michael go and search a research hospital Hammond is involved with only to find dying patients.

Back at Hammond's place Hammond Sr. tells those searching 'I hope they have good lawyers'. Pearse walks in and says, "The best". As Pearse looks around the room he sees that a picture has been removed and says to Hammond, "You've been redecorating.' They find the picture of Gideon Hammond.

Pearse talks to Hammond. He realises that the vampire they are looking for is actually Hammond Sr's father not his son. He asks Hammond what actually did happen to his son. Hammond tells him he died of natural causes 3 years ago.

Angie and Michael talk to Danny but she will not give them any information.

In a meeting Pearse tells the others that Danny fits the right profile to be taken in by the vampires. Angie tells Pearse she is not sure Danny knows much.

Pearse tells Michael, what happened in the hospital centre was the vampires trying to research the pollution of their food supply. He tells them that the fire of London was the vampires way of having a cull or do they think it was just a happy coincidence at the time of the plague.

Vaughan tells Michael, although they did not get the vampire, it's a good result. They got his money and he is burnt and will be in permanent pain as painkillers do not work on them.

The biker who argued and caused the vampire to be burnt is murdered. Vaughan and Michael argue. Michael accuses Vaughan of not caring. Michael calls Kirsty to arrange a meeting to talk.

Vaughan goes to the hospital to see the biker's girlfriend and finds her gone. Michael is lying on the settee when the biker's girlfriend appears, standing in front of him. She tells him the vampire helped her walk again. She tells him to join them. Vaughan appears and kills her. He tells Michael it's time he moved.

Michael goes to see Kirsty. He tells her he is moving but not where. He says he thinks they should take a break from each other. He tells her to move on. Then walks away.

      End of episode two.

      Review of 'In Nomine Patris'

There is a lot more bite in this episode as we find Michael Colefield coming to terms with his new job, and helping the team trace another vampire. We also learn some more about the vampires, such as they are stronger, quicker and can be ruthless. They are also very intelligent. We also learn more about Vaughan and Angie, although Pearse is still a mystery.

Philip's character was evident a lot more. He most certainly had most of the best lines. We can gather though from this episode that he is not a vampire as he does go out in daylight. He is also very sharp and intelligent and although his attitude is one of calm authority, it has a gentle quality to it. This gives you the impression not only does this man give a damn about the world, but especially his team.

This drama series is building up slowly and wonderfully, with the story becoming darker and deeper. We are also learning more and more about the main characters.
